Job Summary
The Community Mobilizer for the Women’s Market engages with Rohingya refugee women, community
leaders, and various stakeholders to ensure the effective operation of women-focused market spaces. This
role emphasizes social mobilization, awareness-building, and empowering women to actively participate in
market activities, fostering a safe, inclusive, and sustainable environment.
Key responsibilities include (not limited to)
Increase sales and communities’ engagement:
· Conduct door-to-door visits, focus group discussions (FGDs), and community meetings to promote
· awareness of the Women’s Market project.
· Encourage women's participation in market-based livelihoods, training, and empowerment initiatives.
· Serve as a liaison between the community and the organization, relaying feedback and addressing
· community concerns.
· Facilitate the establishment of women’s groups and community committees within the market area.
· Organize awareness sessions focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), protection, women's rights,
· and economic empowerment.
· Collaborate with camp authorities (CiCs), block leaders (Majhis), and other NGOs to ensure
· community support and smooth implementation.
Monitoring and Reporting:
· Monitor market dynamics and report any protection issues or incidents related to the market space.
· Assist in distributing materials, information, or inputs to participants.
· Ensure that accountability mechanisms are accessible to women, encouraging feedback and
· complaint reporting.
· Support project monitoring and evaluation activities, including data collection and reporting.
Teamwork:
· Engage in regular team meetings to share experiences, discuss challenges, and highlight best
· practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
· Cultivate trust within the team by valuing diverse perspectives, promoting open communication, and
· addressing conflicts constructively.
· Collaborate on group mobilization initiatives, such as awareness campaigns and community events,
· to amplify impact through teamwork.
Relationships
The person holds this position will be reportable to the coordinator of this project.
Required Educational Qualification and Experiences
Education
Minimum HSC/ Diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Development, Gender Studies, or a
related field is preferred.
Experience
· 1-2 years of experience in community mobilization, ideally in humanitarian or refugee settings.
· Experience working with women or vulnerable groups in culturally and gender-sensitive
· environments.
· Familiarity with the Rohingya context, culture, and language (Rohingya or Chittagonian dialect) is a
· significant advantage.
Required Competencies
· Ability to engage respectfully with diverse community members and stakeholders.
· Strong understanding of gender, protection, and inclusion principles.
· Commitment to humanitarian principles and community-led development.
· Flexibility, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
Technical Skills
· Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
· Basic report writing and record-keeping abilities.
· Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments
